Leighton Masqueraders was founded by Tony Wright in 1982. Having started out performing in school halls the Masqueraders now present two shows each year at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre. We have put on more than 50 successful musical productions, including Cabaret, Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma, and we are very proud of our reputation for staging top quality shows here in Leighton Buzzard.

Leighton Masqueraders currently has about forty active members, with many more people helping out with various aspects of our productions. We are always keen to hear from people who are interested in joining – whether on stage or behind the scenes. We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, Beaudesert, Leighton Buzzard.   

As well as performing together, we also hold regular social events, including Quiz Nights and Barbeques.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Leighton Masqueraders you need to be able to sing, act and dance. We don’t expect everyone to be a budding John Barrowman or Elaine Paige - being a member of the Masqueraders is all about having fun. However, we do expect everyone to show real enthusiasm and commitment and to push themselves to deliver the very best performance they can. All new potential members are required to attend a short audition before they are accepted, and we do sometimes have a small waiting list for new members.
